Ilari Hämäläinen is an artist who brings together Finnish schlager music and rock. He was named the Voice of Finland's most luminous singer in 2016, and the man's musical journey has gone from the backgrounds of several well-known artists to an energetic solo artist who has also jumped on the theaters in Badding boots themselves. The VALO & VARJO double album is a great example of how music can be done in many ways.
When one of the albums is completely artist's own handwriting, and the other is a whole piece of important piece of credit, the distinction between the cover artist and the artist who performs his own music can be forgotten for a moment. In the VALO album, a single release will be heard on "In My Dreams" from the R.O.C.K album of Kirkas, where Hämäläinen was given a unique permission to make the Finnish translation "Unessain". Arrangement was also better updated at this time, without losing the original atmosphere of the 80's. New colors also got new pop songs: Kasmir's "Iholla" was transformed from an electronic dance piece into a nostalgic rock song called Guns' N Roses and European Tones.
VARJO album is the more personal side of the double album, whose texts and compositions tell about balancing between relationship, family, aging and the career of a rock musician. We don't can see around the corner. We don't know where the end is to wait. We don't have to live for a moment, but - we are going one step at a time.
